Arrived in Skye and just heard my first Cuckoo in years!!.

How lovely, Euan. I heard the first one this year about ten days ago.

Mmmm.... I only very occasionally hear one here now Euan. At one time I would hear several when I went up onto the moors, and even see them flying around or sitting on fence posts or telegraph wires.

My inlaws live in the North of Skye and its the only time I get to see or hear them with any regularity. Beautiful sound.

I wanted to film it but it stopped when I was about to press record. I last heard and saw a Cuckoo was a couple of years ago in Loch Eynort in South Uist & Eriskay.

One place where I'd hear and see them consistently was Clyde Muirshiel Park, in the hills above Lochwinnoch. But I've not had a car for quite a few years now and the place isn't served by public transport, so I've not seen any since I got rid of the car.
