My only true keeper at the moment is my Zeiss Victory 8x42 FL T*. However, I have never sold any of binoculars I have bought. I started out with a pair of Bushnell Ensign 7x35, then much later bought a pair of Nikon Sportstar 10x25 for backpacking. Still have them both along with a pair of Audubon 8x25 reverse porros. Use these three mostly for window bins and loaners. I made the big jump to the FLs when I started birding a year and a half ago. I got hooked when I went to Cape May on a NJAS bird walk and they offered me a pair of 8x42 FLs to use during the 2-hour-long walk. I was blown away. I came back a few months later and bought the FLs after looking through Leicas, Swaros, and Vortex bins at the CMBO Northwood Center. Since then I bought the Browning 8x32 last year to keep in the car. Very nice but not necessarily a keeper. Just last week I bought a pair of Kowa BD 8x32 bins from Amazon. They look very similar to the Brownings. No verdict on their performance yet. Lastly, I got a pair of Swift Audubon MkII 8.5x44 porros from eBay earlier in the year. Bought them based on the discussions on this forum. Pretty nice but not necessarily keepers either and they may be up for sale soon. Considering getting a pair of Nikon 8x32SE bins when I have some spare cash. I would buy a pair of Nikon 8x30 EIIs if I could find them. After all that, and that's not much, I would really like to try out a pair of Zeiss 8x32 FLs, but that ain't happening any time soon.
