Kite in garden (1 Viewer)

I had an amazing experience this morning. A red kite flew low into the front garden - literally about two feet from my study window, swooped and then flew away. Five minutes later he came back and did the same. I opened the window to see if there was anything he was after and sadly, there was a dead blackbird who must have flown into the window at some point and fallen by the wall of the house. I moved it to an open space on the lawn as it was too close to the house for the kite to be able to pick it up. Within a few minutes, the kite returned, swooped down, grabbed the blackbird and flew off. It was incredible to watch and to have the bird so very close.

All too fast to get photos, unfortunately.

Ok then. Here’s the plan. Drive round and pick up loads of road kill. Get your camera ready and spread the road kill around your lawn. You’ll get some great shots I’m sure.

👍

Great birds to see close up Kits hope you have more.
I’m fortunate to live in mid Wales & see Red Kites regularly flying over the town, always a great experience.
