I'm going to Kos island (between Lesvos and Rhodes) in 21-26 april 2011.
It's many months that non one writes about this island... so I'll be glad if someone recommend some good birding spots and/or just where to stay
thanks in advance

Kos island birding hotspot (Google) map

Well, I have still to visit KOS, anyway , after a few interesting readings, I managed to do a "birding hotspots map" using Google Maps.

It's here: http://tinyurl.com/6fpvh4q

The infos are both in italian (my own language) and english.

Any suggestion is welcome

Here's also a pic of what I'm writing about

Andrea,

I'm not sure what number 1 is on the map but it certainly isn't the Evros delta which is in northern Greece.

Of course it's not the "most known" Evros river, it seems it's a small river with the same name.
At least... i've been told so
Maybe, after I'll return form Kos... I'll delete #1 point, or make some correction!?

Cool!

I was just in Kos in May for an 8-hour ferry stopover around May 12. I rented a bike cycled over to Alykes for the Flamingos and other shorebirds. I also found a Lesser Gray Shrike there and Short-toed Larks display-flying and Eurasian Reed Warblers singing.

I obviously missed a lot of the stuff you got. I'm especially jealous of those Red-footed Falcon pics! I did get a Eurasian Hobby instead though as a consolation.
