The 6x30 porro binoculars are good too if you still want those. However like other people mentioned the Kowa, Leupold Yosemite , Vortex and others are basically the same binoculars with different brand names on them and different colors of rubber armor etc. The optics are still the same only the names are different , quality wise they are all mediocre good at best, for $99.00 or less you can not expect them to be that of a Zeiss or Leica etc. Not many good binoculars come from China , maybe a Zen -Ray 7x36 ED2 ? but I never looked through one but many people give them good reviews. Basically you get what you pay for unfortunately , and I looked through and owned the lower priced binoculars and sold them all. I own a Kowa Genesis 8x33 and it gives me great views for the money , Zeiss FL, Leica Trinovids and Ultravids and Swarovski , Nikon Edg , and Kowa Genesis models are the best and that is the way it is. Think of it this way, If $99.00 Chinese binoculars and binoculars up to $500.00 were really better or as good as the German and Austrian and Japanese binoculars best binoculars , then no one would be dumb enough to buy a $1,000 or more binocular. But the fact is the best optics and build are in the $1,000 and higher price range , and you can see the difference when you look through them. I am not wealthy but I learned my lesson from lower priced binoculars I bought my Kowa and paid it off on my credit card per month and I have a quality optic that will last me a long time . It is something to think about for sure, also try out some binoculars in a store or from eagle optics or other sellers with a 30 day refund policy and keep the one you like most , not my opinion or others because everyone's eyes are different and different tastes in style , eye positioning etc. I hope this helped ?.

[QUOTE="catmouse, post: 3156363, member: 57292"] If you only have one good eye , would it not be better to buy a Monocular ?, I think Zeiss, Leica and other companies make good monocular's . I think they are not as expensive as the binoculars either and they are of nice quality too. So that can be an option that you may want to consider?.
