Hi , First posting , new member , new method , have been a Zeiss Bino fan but needed to see more , farther and help my lesser than perfect eyes.
Bought a Mint Kowa TSN 2 77m with 30 X w eyepiece. Luxury ..,. Can even see the colour of the bird ( my Zeiss 8 X 42 HD , always at the top end of focus ).
I'm hooked , I'm now wanting a zoom eyepiece for the above. Is anyone able to unravel the many offerings and point me in the right direction armed with the correct serial numbers for an eyepiece maybe 20-60 that will fit my Kowa.
Thanks in anticipation.
Skylark.

Hi Skylark and a warm welcome from me too.

I hope you soon get sorted with the zoom eye piece you're after, it can make a big difference.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hi,

welcome to birdforum, first of all!

I would not recommend a zoom for a plain glass Kowa. The 30x wide offers the best view for that scope.

A zoom will be a lot narrower and with a plain glass body the image will not be great beyond 40x.

I second Joachim's advice. I owned a TSN1 , then a TSN3 Prominar for many years and found the x 30 wide the best combination. The zoom had a noticeable and dark drop off above x 45 .
