Krakow in February (1 Viewer)

I'm planning a weekend visit to Krakow in early Feb.

Does anyone know if there is a possibility of picking up Syrian Woodpecker in any of the city parks ?

Hi Robin

You should not have any problems to observe this species in Cracow area, especially if you know a voice of this Woodpecker. At present that one is really more common than several years ago. It suficce to explore a suitable habitat; parks, gardens etc.
I will give you more information if I only receive an exact message from polish birdwatchers.
best regards
Peter

Thanks you Peter - much appreciated.

My stay will be limited but I'm sure a walk along the river or to any city parks could be possible - I will do my homework on the bird's call as well.

Regards
Robin

Hi Robin,

I am absolutely sure that you will do homework of Syriacus's call very well.
If it is possible I will ask someone who is living in Cracow area and will be able to be your birdguide during your stay in Poland.
We will keep in touch.

Peter
