L Before serial number on Zeiss 20x60 eyepiece (Diascope) (1 Viewer)

The serial number on my zoom lens ie 20x60 starts L32****. Have not seen a serial number on Zeiss eyepieces start with a letter before! Any ideas?
My two guesses 1, Locking 2, LotuTec!!
