two penniworth Most of what has been said already. Agreed wrong question and it can be scary for men too. VERY SCARY! See Stats. More likely to come to grief at home with another member of the family! Too much paranoia. Had stones thrown at me by a few scroats. Often feel 'time to leave'. Nearly got caught in quicksand out 'in the bay'. But best of all ... nearly blown off a mountain in wilds of Scotland by a RAF Tornado doing 500mph and below 500 ft, just gone over a crest and he was actually just below me, two minutes later and I'd have been fried crisps in his jet exhaust ... 'joyriders!!!' So what is there to worry about? Partly because of my knees and ankles I walk (bird watch) with a walking (Hiking pole) nowadays (2 on mountains)... put that where the sun doesn't shine buster! and keep 'valuables', bins and camera out of the way until I need them, under my coat/pockets, just put on 45lb! and yes my bum does look big in it... but do I care? Oh and anywhere, any park, any time, in Singapore is 'safe'... but you might get propositioned from the sidewalk... but that was just a bit of fun for the tourists in their 'tourist rickshaws' come to 'ogle'. Hey go to any major city and end up on the wrong street... g nearly go lost in 'walkabout creek' too.. but that was jet lag and my stupidity... some great birds tho... nearly drowned on Redondo Beach... all good fun... often wear a full length 'drizabone', under which you can carry anything... high plains drifter impressions... Eastwood, nah... just look more scary than the nutters! C'mn 'ere, c'mn 'ere Ezmerelda! I find, smiling, saying hello and being nice to people tends to work. :–)
