Thanx for that.Could you see that I was struggling ?
Nice photos Pitvar :t:. I photo'd some Corn Buntings today but will keep the shots to myself after seeing your great shot!

Hi .. I am new to the site and also in Preston. We go to Clifton Marsh alot.. mainly because we live very close, but we have seen a little egret there, whimbrel and hundreds of black tailed godwits. There are also barn owls and deer in the vicinity..
I work on London Road Preston. My colleague and I are both keen birders, although he is experienced and I am new to it. Today we have seen six waxwings and a flock of about 25 goldfinches.. one of which is leucistic.
In my lunchbreak today I relocated the drake Ring-necked Duck at Bispham Marsh. I mention this in particular here because for those who know the site it was in the northern 'duck feeding' half and if it stays there might offer better photo opportunities than the other sites it has used this winter.

Well done Stephen, showed brilliantly this afternoon although the sun had decided to hide so my shots weren't great. It appears to have come in with an influx of other ducks as on Saturday there was only 1 male Tufted Duck and 6 Teal present, whereas today along with the Ring Necked Duck there were 4 Tufted Ducks, 2 Gadwall and 14 Teal
Thanks Johnny.
Re influx I think the diving ducks to and fro a bit, there were 3 Pochard yesterday and 5 last week but presumably none today. I had a couple of Gadwall last week but they could disappear into the reeds and you might miss them so don't know if they come and go.

I would agree that the birds do to and fro today, a point which was highlighted this afternoon as there were 3 Shoveler and a female Pochard new in, whilst the 4 Tufted Ducks had dissappeared. The Ring Necked Duck spent all it's time on the south side so out of view mainly and too far away for any good photographs.
It was in the north side early on. I think it was rather optimistically following the female Pochard around today.

Hello from a 'Newbie'
That Ringed Necked Duck is a cracker!
I can't believe I didn't know about BirdForum until now. Are there any other local forums on here for Lancashire / Fylde / Preston?
Cheers

Any body else having problems logging in........?:-C
The current Brockholes forum is no more. There is a replacement in the pipeline.
Cheers,
Bill.
