Large raptor in Anglesey (1 Viewer)

Jeanie

Jeanie with one n.
My 8 year old grandson very excitedly told me that he had seen a Golden Eagle at the weekend in Anglesey.
Which large raptor was it likely to be? It was in a forest that starts with the letter N. Newberry/Newport??
Many thanks.

Hi Johny, that was my best guess though my daughter in law was convinced it was something else.
I wondered if there was anything more exciting about.

As far as I know Jeanie there were no reports of any real eagles on Anglesey last weekend, if it's the Newborough Forest area you're talking about I've seen plenty of buzzards in that area. It's also a good place to see ravens. Incidentally in Scotland where they do have real golden eagles they call buzzards "tourists eagles" To an unexperienced eye a close view of a buzzard would look very much like an eagle. well done to your grandson for spotting it.
