Lark IDs, China (1 Viewer)

Well-known member

Attached are photos of two lark species. The bird on the ground seems to be a Hume's short-toed lark. Photo was taken in Wild Yak Valley (Golmud area) in Qinghai.

The bird in flight was photographed in the northeastern corner of Koko Nor, the massive lake west/northwest of Xining, Qinghai.
I think this is Greater Short toed Lark. Tail too long for Oriental Skylark, which should also be more streaked on the breast??

Thanks for any help!

Birder in Kathmandu
I am not a lark expert, but judging by the book, GST Lark is also my best guess
