[QUOTE="JWN Andrewes, post: 1614299, member: 7131"] Fair points. Here goes. Endured the whole hour? Yes I did. I'm into wildlife (as are we all on here I guess) and so I wanted to see what the show was like, and make an informed decision based on having seen the whole thing, and I kind of hung on in there in the hopes of catching something like the Stalk-eyed Fly that just made me go "wow, never knew that"! For what it's worth I also thought the Leopard Seal set piece was pretty good too. Will I watch again? Probably. Religiously? No. If I miss it I won't mind much. I'll maybe admit to being a tad over the top in my criticism, I guess partly it was due to the gulf between my expectations and what I ended up being served, but I do believe most emphatically that it doesn't hold a candle to Life on Earth etc. LoE usded what was at the time state of the art techniques to tell the story of how life evolved on this planet. It was captivating. Life (based on last night's offering) uses current state of the art techniques to go "wow, look at this! And this! And this!" The camera teams, for me, were let down by the script writers and whoever it was that actually constructed the programme. In narrative terms I found it a mess. I'm hoping that this was perhaps a taster. A medley of the variety of wonderful stuff organisms get up to, and future episodes will start to do what Living Planet, Life in the Undergrowth etc did so well; tell coherent, biology packed, instructive stories.
