Hi, I originally IDed this as a Reddish Egret but someone has said it's a Little Blue Heron, so now I'm in doubt.
Any help is gratefully appreciated.

Someone is right: moulting from immature into adult plumage. Reddish egret could never look like this: white-morph birds are white throughout life - they don't moult into a white plumage at adulthood - AFAIK; and in any case here the white feathers are the old worn ones - the dark feathers are the new adult ones.
