Little Island, Waterford Ireland Bird ID (1 Viewer)

Greetings, I am relatively new to birding and recently walked a three mile section of the eastern edge of the Little Island where the Waterford Castle is located. I was trying to identify a call using the Merlin app. The common greenshank appeared and I was not familiar with this bird. I went over all my pictures and may have snapped a shot of it or not. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Hello Fritz,

the bird in the picture is a Curlew. When seeing this, the right durncurved bill shape can just be guessed (or is it whishful thinking?)
Lack of a wingbar on primaries, but spotting on inner ones, is good for this. I suspect to see the bold headpattern of a Whimbrel here.
