Bully Boy at it again!

Bully Boy has just attacked the middle one, which is squeaking with pain!
And little one is just immobile by Mum. Oh dear, I know that this is survival of the fittest, but I really don't like seeing two of the chicks totally beaten into submission like this!

4.13pm At last, friends again

Well, happily, all seems better. The three chicks are feeding in turn.
Once the eldest has had his fill, he is content apparently to allow his siblings to have their turn.

4pm today and the largest chick is attacking the little one in the most awful ferocious way!
EJ seems not to notice. She turned to feed the three chicks, and when the little one dared to turn towards her to be fed, Bully Boy again attacked his sibling.
If this behaviour continues, I doubt the baby will survive; the strikes of that sharp beak may well cause serious if not fatal injury.

Osprey chicks never disclipine the kids even when they are killing each other. Where do you think the kids got those genes from?

4 fish deliveries so far today - approx 9am, 1.30pm, 4pm and 5.45pm. Not bad Odin - most impressive! :))) Will there be another this evening? Is he back to normal now?

Odin still not close to breaking any Loch Garten records.

But remember the Loch Garten records are rather steep.

Ollie, the former resident male, was undoubtedly a master at his
craft, raising 23 chicks between 1990 and 2001 and he still holds the record for 14 fish delivered to the nest in one day in 1995 (not the same day he mated a record 49 times).

Presumably the second record is held jointly with Olive.

2nd and 3rd chick are almost the same size now, it just goes to show that intervening with the Tesco fish was the right thing to do. Odin was obviously feeling the effects of the fishing line incident and was out of sorts for a couple of days.

If the LG hadn't put the fish in the nest the chicks would have probably died.

Intervening is always a difficult subject but in this case it was absolutely the right thing to do. Perhaps the chicks should be called Tess and Coe LOL
