mmmm.... but that would only make sense if we moved all the other Osprey threads to the webcam forum too. A quick check and they all seem to have been started in here.

The discussions have always been in BoP forums I think.

I caught a small piece about the Ospreys in the Courier (our local paper) yesterday.

They seem to have nicknamed our new female as Lassie.

Oh no!! I've been a bit busy today and haven't looked in since first thing this morning.

He'd been quite good at handover the couple of times I've seen it. Hope he's not made a fatal error.

If' there's to be a 4th egg, when is it likely to arrive do you think? I was presuming Friday??

I do not expect a fourth egg. It would probably have been yesterday if it was to have been.

See time between eggs

Oh right. Thanks Tiger.

In a way, I'm probably glad there won't be another, with such a young pairing they may have a better chance with a smaller clutch.

Four eggs seems to be quite rare anyway, doesn't it.

In the UK four eggs is rare. Lady laid four eggs in 2005 and 2013. 2 chicks fledged in 2005 and one in 2013.

EJ has laid four eggs on a number of occasions but never raised four chicks.

The only nest reported to have raised 4 chicks was the backup nest at Tweed Valley in 2005.

There was another nest that raised four in Perthshire about 2011 but that nest was not in the public domain.

In the USA Millford Conneticicut raised 4 chicks a number of times in the last ten years.

Friends of Island Garden raised 4 chicks on a good webcam in 2013.
