Longevity list for southern African birds (1 Viewer)

I have compiled a list of longevities of southern African birds, based on published values which have been checked. Most commonly ringed species are included - species not in the list generally are those which do not have any significant recoveries or resightings (related to longevity). The list is at https://birds4africa.org/bird-ringing/longevities/, and will be updated every now and again.

Fascinating, thanks!

What's the criteria for inclusion? Does the individual have to have been either ringed or recovered within South Africa, or do global age records made outside SA but of species recorded in SA, count?

The list is based on the SAFRING scheme's database, thus birds that were ringed or recovered in southern Africa. In time, I may add a column to show age records made outside SA but of species recorded in SA.
