Hope that enjoyed the series, Euan :t: The last programme is on tonight, and it was very interesting as always. More to do with birds this week. o:) http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00m82h7 There was some birds which appeared at various points in the programme. While 'George' was walking up towards to the active Volcano he found it a bit daunting as the rocks came down close to himself and the camera team. He could see a Brahminee (sp)Kite flying about ahead, so it proved that there was life around on the dead looking plain of ash, and 'nearly' dead trees. Another bird called a Megapode (sp) (which looked like a chicken) was running about on the ash surface. They laid their eggs deep in the ash and George found one egg. What strange looking birds a bit 'historical' looking like from the age of the dinosaurs. Another 2 birds to appear where the 'Torrent flycatcher' and these birds where attacking the scientists as they walked about. Odd behaviour A 'Salvadour Teal' appeared in one of the nearby rivers. It looked odd as you would think a duck would out of place in this programme and this one did Another bird called a 'Fruit Dove' was noted nesting and what a beautiful colouration too. Unafraid of people. Lots of Moths caught in a Moth trap - oh I have to say some of the species where beautiful to look at, and as big as a Swallowtail. Just lots of interesting wildlife, and especially mammels. The Flat Worm and the Leeches where yuk..... and made me swirm all over. The star of the show has to be the Gaint Woolley Rat - what a size he was and unafraid of everyone. The size of a cat! He was something else and he was seen at the very end of the programme.
