In context with Grote I came accross Loxia curvirostra mariae Dementiev , 1932

OD of Loxia curvirostra mariae here.

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds gives me no hint for whom the bird is named. Maybe anything in the future BOW key avaible? Or any additional idea?

Maybe the wife of Georgi Petrovich Dementiev (1898-1969) (Георгий Петрович Дементьев) here? (Maria Petrovna Dementieva)?

https://sciencejournals.ru/cgi/getA...2019&vol=98&iss=6&file=Zool1906008IlinaII.pdf may give a hint:

Georgy Petrovich Dementyev (1898-1969), professor, head of the ornithological laboratory at Moscow State University, full member of several European academies, many ornithological societies, the International Union for Conservation of Nature, played a significant role in the development of domestic and world ornithology.

The conference was opened by the report of M.G. Vakhrameeva, daughter of Georgy Petrovich Dementyev. Maria Georgievna shared her memories

Must be here. Found as well here
