It may worth to update chauleti with Gilbert Emile Chaulet in the key. Still the life dates a mystery.

CHAULET Guy Joseph and CHAULET Claude may have been children of him.

And luciae Marie Mélanie Varenne (no hyphen in the birth register) née Parly (1869–1932), a k a "Marie-Mélanie Foussadier" even if I do not understand why luciae.

This was George-Pierre-Gilbert Chaulet born 27 June 1877. See attached records and post #15. Died Saigon 31/10/1950. Note also that his mother's name was Therese Hayoit de Bois LUCY!

But why would Delacour have referred to a 12 yo girl called Lucie as "Mme A. Varenne" ?

Wrong interpretation by Delacours? Note she died shortly after OD. Maybe she was already seriously ill when Varenne suggested the name to Delacours?
