Lynford Hawfinches (1 Viewer)

According to bird guides 8 flew over the paddock on saturday afternoon but nothing on there since.

I would certainly go and have a look. Numbers have been reasonable this winter and birds have been showing well in the paddock near the car park for much of the winter period. They do tend to disappear for a bit during breeding, but you may well get lucky and pick out a small group. It has been a very good winter for Crossbill, and these early breeders are on the move and have also been seen in recent weeks at Lynford. Check any tall trees!
Cheers,
Jim.
