Three years ago BiOME purchased a 9ha plot of land in western Estonia. Since then we have completed a biodiversity monitoring project which has involved the deployment of camera traps and bat detectors as well as many hours of field surveys to produce an inventory of the wildlife that calls the site home. During this time we have completed an innovative, and as far as we are aware, unique study which has involved the use of a wide variety of attractants with the aim of enticing Eurasian Lynx to the site. We now believe we have found the required mix of attractants which has resulted in regular observations of this amazing mammal.
Today, we are delighted to announce that a viewing hide will be opened in May 2015 and you have to chance to see this elusive, and charismatic mammal, as well as some of the 25 other mammal species that frequent the reserve, not to mention a fantastic array of birds, insects and flora. Check out our website for more information.
