The head is very heavy put silk smooth in use and locks solid, without creep. Have used it with 400 f5.6 and tubes on a 1D without any problems whatsoever. Other than a sore shoulder its that heavy. One disadvantage though is I don't like it for a scope, so probably need another set of legs.Phil</blockquote>
