It is odd that birdwatchers in the UK seem to think that ruddy ducks are more important than the conservation of the white headed ducks in other countries. There again, the ruddy ducks that cause the problems are those that leave the UK and fly to the continent. Could hunters there be encouraged to blast any ruddy ducks that turn up? Do Americans have any good ruddy duck recipes? Ruddy ducks might look cute, to use Motmot's word, but don't some people think that red foxes are cute, too? Look at the damage caused in Australia just because some homesick pratt decided to release some foxes there. Non-native creatures are bad news.Allen</blockquote>
