A Spoonbill is still at Albufereta and a few Northern gannet are being seen from the coasts. That's the only news so far today. Mike
Hi PepI dont know, I only know it was on the pines wood, i guess near or around the houses.
The new job is fine, with many exciting challenges ahead on Tramuntana and Dragonera
This time of the year the Albufereta nature reserve is an excellent site. Some 10 days ago, 9 Greater flamingoes, 4 Great white egrets and more than 200 ducks and coot were present, among many other birds.
Yesterday morning was even better: 30 flamingoes!!!, 8 Great white egret, 49 Little egret, 8 Cattle egret, 23 Cormorant, 11 Grey heron, 24 Black-winged stilt, 260+ Shoveler, 90+ Mallard, 100+ Coot, 5 Moorhen, 2 Shelduck, 1 Pintail, 2 Marsh harriers, some 30 Lapwing, 2 Water rail (heard), 7 Red-legged partridge, 1 Common snipe, 1 Peregrine sitting on an electric pilon, and many Zitting cisticola, Blackbirds, finches, robins, warblers, etc. etc. Ah, and 56 Kentish plover on the beach. All together a great morning around the wetlands.
