[QUOTE="StewB, post: 3162214, member: 32149"] We arrived yesterday morning after a bumpy flight fro Stansted and still suffering the effects of a very dodgy takeaway curry, which severely curtailed birding activity! Determined not to give in to such minor incoveniences I made the short drive from Puert Pollensa up to the tower at Albercutch in search of Alpine Accentor. An hour and a half of fruitless searching later, on the drive back down, the podgy form of an accentor appeared on the retaining wall for the briefest of moments before diving across the road and into thick cover. Not the most satisfactory of views, but I'm not complaining! Short visits to Postage Stamp Wood and La Gola confirmed that there are plenty of robins and black redstarts aound. Meadow pipits at La Gola were my first in Mallorca since an October visit in 1988! As I write, two house martins have just flown past our balcony, hopefully an omen for some good birding today!
