I need to remove this pin as my old nikon EDII scope lacks the necessary hole to accomodate it.The instructions say "push the pin out from above to move it." However this does not work because the part of the pin above its socket appears to be  larger than the hole. I have tried pushing, pulling, twisting and unscrewing, but I cannot remove it.  I do not want to use too much brute force for fear of damaging it.This is a simple problem which must have a simple solution, but I cannot work it out. I have searched the net but the only user who even mentions it says it pops out easily.Can anyone give me simple instructions how this pin is removed please?</blockquote>
