Thank you Acknolwedgement and Thanks The total I've built up over the years may only be a fraction of what is achievable in this fine county, but its a much bigger fraction than I could have achieved on my own. Without the expert knowledge and assistance of many experts I would have struggled to a piffling total and fallen at the first hurdle. If nothing else its been a privilege to be in the field with people who really, really know their chosen obsession. So a big shout out (in no particular order and apolgies for any inadvertant ommissions) to Barry Henwood, John Randall and the rest of the Devon Moth Group for expertise, opportunity and patience beyond the call of duty. John Walters (also of the moth group) for help in many areas, especially the beetles. Jeff Benn and the Devon Mycological Massif, and not just for the fungi (their help wih flowers was invalueable) Barbara Benfield and the lichenologists. Dave, Dave, Mark, Martin, Brian, the clan Smale and the rest of the Beer Group for much local bird informaton and the fortnightly social. Kat and the rest of the Wembury rockpoolers for much fun at the seaside. Phil, Ivan, Kevin and Leigh - the Dawlish Warren regulars. The warden at Berry Head who kindly showing us a needle in a haystack. Lucy Carter, Professor Juliet Brodie and the MotheCombe bioblitzers. John and Mary Breeds, Braunton Burrows would have been much more daunting without yuor help. The bat group. Ficedula and the other entemologists who've helped out with awkward identification posts both here on birdforum and elsewhere. [ I hadn't seen Ficedula's tagline until I started this list, my respect for his eloquently named 'everything' total has increased dramatically as the year has roared past ] Roger for the Dormouse tip off. Many people who have helped out, if only in passing, whose name I know not, for example the birders who helped out with flowers at Dunsford. Andrew for regularly stopping by and encouraging me. Everyone else whose either contributed or skim read a bit. Apologies to those who dropped out in a hurry when confronted with a wall of latin! And above all else my wife Nicola, not just for her help with flowers, fungi and lichen, but for coping with everything else I've put off whilst I've been swanning about on this huge indulgence. Now if only I can get some sponsorship... An all out UK everything bash in 2012 would be awesome...
