A WIP can be found here.

Incredible - I'm always flabbergasted by your work and this one knocks me sideways. Just look at that wing-vein shadow on the herbage. Pure class, Matt.

Mind boggling good here, Matt! Beyond my comprehension to pull off a piece like this, and at such a small size no less. Wow.

This is pretty much the last of the Baltimore Orioles for the season. Sad to see them move off.

Yes, interesting...uhhhh....perspective here, Matt! ;) Very well done, as always! Seeing this view of birds reminds me of one of the more unique behavioral traits of the good ol' American Coot - territorial displays that involve mooning the neighboring coot. I guess maybe if done simultaneously they can stare each other down under the water while providing a laugh to those watching the ritual.

It is always sad to see the summer species depart especially in years like I've had where I didn't bird hard enough to see all the species I usually consider to be annual. Soon, though, the northern species will be moving in for the winter.

He was definitely showing off the posterior. The log/stump he is sitting on is hollowed out and filled with grape jelly, so a certain percentage of the time you get a view of their rear end as they reach in for some eats. Other times you get a less objectionable view! Oh well, I'll take down the jelly feeders in a week or two and scrub them out for next season.
