1)What is the eye relief of the Maven? The Maven's eye relief is 15.1mm and the CL's is 15mm but the Maven's eyecups must be a little longer because I could place my eyes a little closer to them whereas with the CL's I have to place my eyes loosely in the eyecups. The eye relief on both is pretty close though. 2)Do the Mavin's eye cups have stop positions? The CL Companion's eye cups do not. Are the Mavin's eye cups removable? Yes, the Mavin's have three stop positions. I am not sure if the Mavin's are removable. I would think not. They don't look like it but you could email Maven about that.(email: customerservice@mavenbuilt.com) 3)Can you tear the covering off the Mavin's objective tubes with your fingernails? Remember that U-tube video made by the woman from Ohio who has a Birding Blog? She took her Swarovski to SONA to drop it off for refurbishing and the woman in charge of the refurbishing unit tore the covering off it with her manicured finger nails with out any problem! The Maven's covering to me appears thinner and not as quality as the Swaro's covering so I would say yes if you could grab it with your nails you could tear it off. 4)The Swarovski CL Companion does not have slim, trim rubber eye cups. The CL Pocket does and the old 8x30 SLC did but the ones on the CL Companion are large and comfortable which is why I like them. What I meant was that in relation to the Maven the Swaro CL has slim feeling tubes. The Maven optical tubes to me feel chunkier and thicker. Even though both binoculars are close to the same size there seems to be more landscape on the Swaro to spread your hands out. To me the Swaro is more comfortable to hold. 5)The Swarovski CL Companion also comes with that expensive, very large zippered, awkward to open and use case which Swarovski supplies with its binoculars. Basically it is useful only for storing the binocular. If you need to get another one check out its price which is way too high. One could save money on the Swarovski by not getting a case and purchasing a generic one from Eagle Optics. Cases are a real personal thing. I personally like the Swaro case and you must admit it is high quality and it did cost Swarovski something to include it. The Eagle cases in my opinion don't offer too much padding if you dropped your binoculars but they would be ok for carrying in the field I guess. I think you should get some kind of a case with every binocular though so you don't have to go out and buy one right away.
