Maven where to send for service other than Maven? (3 Viewers)

After waiting three months I just received 3 out of 4 of Mavens' B Series binoculars back from Maven including two that needed to be sent back to them twice due to excessive amounts of dust still inside their lenses.

I'd like to have the excessive amounts of dust cleaned out of these three Maven B1 B2 and B3 binoculars because Maven is obviously either unable to or unwilling to do so after having them for nearly three entire months time and told me they don't even have the facility nor equipment to even refill the nitrogen if they open them up. I was also told flat out by several of their CS warranty reps and head technician that various degrees of dust on the insides of their brand of binoculars is totally normal and if I send them in to them again and they test within specs even with the excessive amounts of noticeable dust inside them they will do absolutely nothing to clean them which they actually followed through on because there's plenty of dust still inside.

I even had to pay them the $100.00 they wanted in order to refurbish my B2 11x45 but I just got them back after three months waiting and the front lenses look like there's a chip on one side and a scratch on the other side and there's still some noticeable dust on the insides of both barrels.

If I call them AGAIN to complain AGAIN they'll just say I keep buying USED MAVENS!!! And say the excessive amounts of noticeable dust inside doesn't affect performance but it really bothers the hell out of me because I even paid them the $100.00 they wanted and still has dust inside and defects in the glass.

Vortex and SIG on the other hand who sell similar level of optics would keep on sending me prepaid return shipping labels forever until I got a PERFECT one WITH ZERO dust inside.

No offense intended but I think between your cherry picking of Prostaff binoculars and this expectation of Perfection in mid level mass produced optics is a recipe for continual disappointment. Perfection is an unreasonable expectation for middling level mass produced goods. Surely it is at these price levels.

Companies produce on specification and manufacturing tolerances. Sometimes good enough really is good enough, especially when companies design and deliver to a price point.

It's great that some companies like Vortex or SIG are willing to absorb the costs of such repeated returns in the short term, yet if too many people were to take advantage it would no longer be sustainable and policies (or pricing) would have to change.

With Maven's excellent warranty - why not send it to Maven?
Already did and had to send two of them straight back due to still way too much dust inside their lenses which still have plenty of dust still inside after the second time I got them back from Maven's warranty service just recently.

Which is why I asked the question.

Optics should have zero dust inside their lenses. If they built them in clean rooms then there would be no need to send them in or cherry pick the ones that were actually made right.

Maven's head technician informed you otherwise, according to your OP. Sounds like you are hoping for a quality level that they are unwilling or unable to provide you at their current price point.

Which was my point, manufacturers have quality specifications, and most are not striving for perfection. Expecting perfection from mid quality products is an exercise in futility or at least frustration.

Their products are engineered and designed for a specific performance/quality level. If it meets that specification level then the product ships, regardless of whatever a consumer's perception of how "it should be".

The fact that some companies are more willing than others to go above and beyond spec in pursuit of customer satisfaction during after sales service is admirable but should not be expected across the board. It's not a sustainable business model to upgrade all of ones products to a higher level than spec...after retail sale.

Ah well. Some folks order 20 binos, send 19 back and then whine and whinge about the 20th.
Most people probabay don't really care if they don't get the best possible sample because they don't know there's in fact sample variances and there's a few that are noticeably superior compared to most of the average ones.

Am I glad I get all the superior ones while you seem to get all the dusty ones

Half and half some dust and plenty dust inside
I can feel for you and your issue....but honestly, if you get an 'average at best' binocular and it comes that way to you 'used'..well, ..you get what you get.

Well the biggest problem I have is their unwillingness or inability to actually clean the dust out of my Maven binoculars after sending them in for service especially even after paying the $100.00 refurbishment fee they required for one of them which still have dust inside.
