...love to see a pic when they are in full flower!

I'm sure my rusty memory remembers BF having a separate gardening section? Has anyone got the link to that...if it DOES actually exist? ;) In the meantime......steps 1: Before I started - empty big tub and various coleus, snapdragons, dahlia and sweet peas.

Step 3: pots all planted with half the plants. Need some more compost *John Innes No.2* and to finish potting on the rest of the plants...I've treated myself to some fuchsias this year and will pot up a couple of baskets or put them in terracotta pots on top of the bin cupboards.

Just need to get some french marigolds and nasturtiums now to poke in amongst the swet peas to attract bees and hoverflies....plus they are some of my favourite flowers anyway :king:

I didn't want to go to work this morning! I woke to clear blue skies and dazzling sunshine :king: It was a beautiful morning but DID cloud over a touch in the afternoon with the occasional few drops of rain. Clear skies and barely a breeze now *7.30pm* - forecast is good for the weekend :t:
I'm working 6am until 12.30pm tomorrow morning then freeee o:) Going to nip over to the coast tomorrow afternoon - possibly Craster & Dunstanburgh Castle for some breeding seabirds - and then Harthope Valley at 8am on Monday morning so I get there nice and early to make a day of it :king: Hoping for a couple of lifers in Ring Ouzel and Red Grouse and will be chuffed to bits if I catch up with Green Woodpecker and various warblers :king:

It'll just be a treat to NOT be at work! It seems that the older I get the more hours I'm working!!! Don't my employers know that I need to be out birding!!!

We had an absolute scorcher up here today :t: By 10.30am the roads were starting to get busy and by the time I finished work at 12.30pm I had decided against going along to Craster to walk along the cliffs towards Dunstanburgh Castle to watch the breeding seabirds - finding a patrking space would have been virtually impossible!!! :eek!: I spoke to my friend who's a traffic warden and he said he'd just come FROM Craster and the two car parks were full and folk were parking on the grass verges :smoke:
So I had a nice couple of hours in Hulne Park to get away from the crowds ;)
I'm off tomorrow so planning on an early start to the Harthope Valley to *fingers crossed* see red grouse and ring ouzel (both lifers if I see them) and various warblers. :t:

Overcast and dull all day. We had some light rain this morning, now it just feels oppressive and as if we need a storm to clear the air.

Overcast here all day & very muggy, but early evening it got brighter & we had some late sunshine & blue sky. No sign of the threatened storm that was forecast.

Harthope never happened - Neil was late back home from work so instead I jumped in the car and went to Craster & Dunstanburgh Castle for the breeding seabirds. First time I've ever been to a 'proper' seabird colony - it was only small (compared to the Farnes) but it was magical :t:

Then headed off down to Boulmer and was thrilled to find 4 Whimbrel o:)

Blue skies and glorious sunshine all day and, despite slapping on the factor 30, I'm a teensy bit coloured :-O
It got unbearably muggy by the time I went to bed after Springwatch tho' - but here we are, 5.15am and still no rain ;)

We had a few drops of rain this morning but it had all cleared up by 7am. Now sunny with quite a brisk warm wind.

Thanks for the link Kits :t: I knew I'd seen a garden forum somewhere :-O
