I have much pleasure in naming this new thicket warbler for my wife Llane Hadden.

...we propose to name it a new species in honor of Don Hadden, whose long search for the bird has finally been rewarded.

Llane Hadden is a nurse. Llane and Don Hadden (q.v.) lived on the island of Bougainville (Papua New Guinea), where Don taught at Panguna International School (1976–1980 and 1999–2002). They now live in an Aboriginal community, south of Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia.

Don Hadden is a New Zealand retired schoolteacher, ornithologist and wildlife photographer. He lives in an Aboriginal community near Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia. He lived in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, where he taught at Panguna International School (1976–1980 and 1999–2002). He is the author of several books including Birds and Bird Lore of Bougainville and the North Solomons (2004) and Birds of the Outback (2010). He put in much effort trying to find the warbler after local people reported its existence.
