Merlin Song Recognition and African Data (1 Viewer)

Hi All, I have just been visiting the states from Kenya and using while there the amazing bird song recognition software on Cornells Merlin software. I downloaded the african bird pack too but wondered if anyone here had any insight on when a continent like africa or maybe a country like Kenya, might have enough data to provide its users with the ability to recognize our bird sounds? Many thanks,

Have you looked at Cornell's birdNET app as well? They claim to be up to over 3000 species now although I'm not aware of a complete listing and additions seem to be rather arbitarily ordered. There is an Explore your Area menu option which shows which local birds it can detect which may be worth a go. They mention new additions on their twitter feed on https://twitter.com/BirdNET_App eg
