I found this moth earlier today at the edge of some woodland near Carlisle.

I've worked through my field guide a few times, but I can't find a match.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I should have added that it was about 6mm in length.

I wonder if it might be Psychiodes filicivora??

I think that's a great shout!

If you look at the worn example included in the following link, it really does seem to tick all of the boxes (including length):

I'll submit it to the county recorder as Psychoides filicivora and I'll post any feedback.

I've had them here for the last four years and gather they are becoming more widespread, so will be interesting to know if they are in your area.
