Message: <blockquote data-quote="pstraughan" data-source="post: 1326656" data-attributes="member: 28197">I had my first patch walk for a couple of weeks yesterday (I've been away at a family funeral).  The Fieldfares have arrived in force, with some Redwings, and increasing numbers of Mistle Thrushes and Blackbirds.  Lots of flocks of little things, especially Long Tailed Tits and Linnets.  The local Rook colony, which numbers over 150, are doing their mad wheeling round the sky thing, especially just before dusk.Anyone noticed that some birds are missing, apart from the obvious summer migrants?  Collared Doves seem to have disappeared from the area.  Mallards and Pheasants are also down in number.  The latter is probably due to the fact that the local gamekeeper went to gaol and they haven't been bred for shooting.  But that's another story........Pat</blockquote>
