Mistnet poles: painted or not? (1 Viewer)

Sontium Dweller
Hello there,
according to your experience, what are the main advantages of painted bamboo poles, not only in terms of ageing? Does paint deeply affect visibility? If so, is there a colour to be preferred?
Thank you very much

I painted some of mine with green wood preservative, but I've never really checked whether the colour has anything to do with the catch!

We do a camo job on them using specialist paint. Many of our bamboo poles are old but bearing up well, but they are stored inside. No idea whether it improves catches, we just do it.
