Moab, UT, USA - Killdeer, and something else (1 Viewer)

The first birds below are Killdeer. What is this other guy? They were all seen yesterday, in the same place. He was MUCH darker and smoother looking, but he's obviously a plover, and has the right number of neck stripes for a Killdeer. Any ideas?

It's a Kildeer as well. The bird in the second picture looks different because the background and lighting are different.
