A patch tick Stock Dove at Loch Flemington along with an excellent number, 24, Little Grebe counted. Plenty in the trees alongside the loch with 6 Chiffs, a WW, Goldcrest, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Chaffs, Yellowhammer and Linnet. Lots of gull on the water but nothing exotic. 19 Lapwing at the southern edge.

Beforehand a m+f Common Scoter went east of Nairn Seabank, my first of the Autumn. Other than c50 Razorbill a few Gannet and some Corms and Shag that was the best of it there. Moorhen and Little Grebe on the pool near the clubhouse.

Browsing BirdTrack i noticed "anonymous" has reported a Firecrest in Nairn yesterday. Does anyone on here happen to know anything about this bird? thanks

Up at Findhorn late this afternoon and spotted a single swift around the marina. Are there normally stragglers this late in the year around here?

Hi crettie and a warm welcome from me too.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Thanks! Wish I'd read up a bit more on Pallid ID recently (I'd seen a few things mentioned) but to be honest was one of the last things I was expecting to see today
They're a bit tricky to identify for certain. I probably saw one in Aberdeen on Friday but couldn't see enough detail to be sure. Did you get any photos or make any notes on its appearance?

Unfortunately not - I didn't have my camera with me and the light was against me in trying to pick out more details.
