Yesterday I saw a report of American Golden-Plover and Baird's Sandpiper at the same spot as the Buff-breasteds were at, so when I had the chance I went down to oversee the situation. I was briefly elated to spot record numbers of people (5) holding scopes and telephoto lenses and following a reeling flock of skittish shorebirds. Of course, they were "just" 4 Buff-breasteds. One appeared to have been an individual I had seen two days earlier, due to unusually dark plumage and extra-extraordinary tameness (and I assume one of the other three was the accomplice it was with earlier). For the first time this year I actually got to shoot them with my camera, as you can now see! Also this was one of my more distant shots - even with my relatively "short" lens (300 mm) I got poorer shots of the birds that actually filled the entire frame as they walked a yard or two in front of me!

Great report, and new findings of birds you never expected to be around in a certain place at a certsin time. At least there where others at the 'spot' point.
It is being at the place that counts over the photos anyday.
