Morocco Warbler ID Needed (1 Viewer)

Hi Folks, Saw this double wing-barred warbler near the Erg Chebbi dunes near Merzouga, Morocco on November 1, 2019 (just got back home from that birding trip). In theory there are no warblers in that area with two wing bars. Any ideas? Thank you.

Thanks, guys. I'll report it soon...as soon as I return from a long anticipated steelhead trout fishing trip in northern California.

An interesting record indeed. As Andy said, there are only 20 something records for the country (including 6 from last season not published yet in the annual reports).

Please send the record to the Moroccan Rare Birds Committee as suggested.

With more birds apparently overwintering in the UK and down to Iberia (consecutively around Tarifa) perhaps it should be no surprise with a spate of Mahgreb records - the birds are where the birders are:t:

Laurie -

True indeed! There's no doubt in my mind that in the case of YBW there has been an increase in the last decade (ish). Just from a personal perspective I've had a multi-fold increase in my own sightings (self found or not) of YBW in the last few years and I have been birding a bit less since around 2015.

Its strikes me, that there have been fewer this season than last (?).

Hi Mohamed, I was not able to file a report on the web site that was listed above. Do you have a better web address? I did report the sighting on ebird today.
