This one lay dead on our floor this morning. I am guessing it might be a relative of those called Copper Underwing but I really don't know. Any good ideas?

Thank you all, and yes, I believe the dark spot is abrasion. Looking at the info on the wiki page, I would go far enough to think female, the upperside of the upper wing is really clean grey. The underside fits what is shown of underside in the Wiki page as well. So Erinnyis ello (ello sphinx) it is
