Moths of April 2010 (1 Viewer)

Marcus Lawson

I've had to have a few of these!
A few more bits from Monday morning:

Yellow-barred Brindle 1
Double-striped Pug 2
Eriocrania subpurpurella 1

I would be grateful if anyone could confirm the Pugs and Eriocrania subpurpurella id for me please.

How uncanny - I've just nipped out to check the trap and found a stunning female Emperor Moth in the trap - not even annual in the county and obviously NFG.
Lots of micros tonight - several NFY.

That's fantastic Jonathan...I'm now very envious as I've never seen one!
Highlights from my trap last night were 7 Nut-tree Tussocks (NFY), a Powdered Quaker, Red Twin-spot Carpet (NFY), a White Ermine(NFY), a Muslin and as a by-catch my first ever Cockchafer Beetle (a bit of a monster).

Cheers Dave- its a lifer for me too.
Just goes to show though - I've recorded almost 500 species in the last year in the garden but never White Ermine despite Buff Ermine being abundant here. WE is the commonest Hunts species I'm missing.
