Not good for me either:

Treble Lines -5
Heart and Dart - 5
Flame Shoulder - 1
Chrysoteuchia culmella - 1
Oak Tree Pug - 1
Common Pug - 1

(I think your unknown is a Turnip Moth).

Not fantastic here either but it did go quite chilly.

Clouded-bordered Brindle
Brimstone 3
Middle-barred Minor
Bright-line Brown-eye 4
Light Brown Apple Moth 10
Silver-Y-Moth
White Ermine
Scalloped Hazel 3
Brown Silver-lines
Flame Shoulder
Garden Carpet
Heart And Dart 2
Common Pug
Mottled Pug

31 moths in 14 species.

Rather poor night for me, too

2 x Common Marbled Carpet
4 x Garden Carpet
2 x Heart and Dart
1 x Scalloped Hazel

Clear skies forecast for tonight, too, though it's supposed to be warmer. I might just take the trap along to Cullaloe after work.

Not very good here in the Med, either.

Trapping last night here in Mallorca I recorded 132 specimens of 51 species, of which 21 were macros and 30 micros/pyrals.

I would normally expect many more than that at this time of year.

Martin

The rushes around our garden pond are swarming with what I take to be Glyphipterix thrasonella today.
Ken

Edit: managed to get a pic of sorts - lively little beasts about 8mms long.

Excellent! Not all that easy when they're so tiny ..... and lively!

Oak Hook-tip
Clouded Border
Clouded Silver
Cream-bordered Green Pea
Maiden's Blush
Green Carpet
Scalloped Hazel
Ruby Tiger
Small Angle Shades
Broken-barred Carpet
Small Fan foot
Blood Vein
L-album Wainscot
and best of all:
Little Thorn x 2 |=)|

many micros but sadly not enough time to id. |:(|

Realised today at dinner I have posted my catch from last night in the May thread. Must have been all the excitement. Here it is again with one edition and a couple of edits.

Had a better night last night with...

1x Privet Hawk-moth - NFM - what a cracker!

2x Turnip moths

A slightly of putting night last night in the garden with a huge hall of 4 moths:

1 Light Emerald
1 Pale Mottled Willow
1 Triple Lines
1 Willow Beauty

I was cheered up a tiny bit this morning when I stumbled across a newly emerged Setaceous Hebrew Character unfolding it's wings. Brilliant little thing.

Here's my last two catches. 5 new species and last night 4 Hawk-moths, that was fun! So far this year I've got 68 species, and I am only counting some Geometridae and not micros at all.

2010-06-01

7 Apamea illyria
5 Buff Tip
4 Pale Tussock
2 Scalloped Hazel
2 Scorched Wing
1 Nut-tree Tussock
1 Treble Lines
1 Pebble Prominent
1 Sweet Gale Moth
1 Pale Prominent
1 Lesser Swallow Prominent
1 Common Swift [nfy]
1 Barred Umber [nfy]
1 Grey/Dark Dagger [nfy]

Last night:

2 Eyed Hawk-moth

1 Poplar Hawk-moth

1x Flame Shoulder
1x Pale-shoulder Brocade
2x Brown-line Bright-eye
1x Coxcomb Prominent (nfg)
1x Small Angle Shades
1x Spectacle

See pic #2 for the Epiblema cynosbatella, I'm pretty sure this is the correct id and according to the UKMoths map it's not that common (or not recorded) in fife :eek!:
If anyone has knowledge of this please let me know....
