Clear skies forecast for tonight, too, though it's supposed to be warmer. I might just take the trap along to Cullaloe after work.

Not very good here in the Med, either.

Trapping last night here in Mallorca I recorded 132 specimens of 51 species, of which 21 were macros and 30 micros/pyrals.

I would normally expect many more than that at this time of year.

Excellent! Not all that easy when they're so tiny ..... and lively!

I had a good catch last night although not from my own garden - someone else's with different habitat to mine. Over 50 species from nearly 200 moths. Highlights were:

Plenty of Chimney Sweepers at RSPB Coombes Valley today. We are also looking for Argent and Sable in the coming months. One was reported last year so we are hoping to find and photograph one this time round.

I was cheered up a tiny bit this morning when I stumbled across a newly emerged Setaceous Hebrew Character unfolding it's wings. Brilliant little thing.

Definitely E.cynosbatella, but UKMoths says "generally common throughout Britain".
