Mourning Dove egg fell out of nest but is not broken. What should I do?

Welcome to BirdForum Mourning Dove! I'm thinking if the parents aren't around I would quickly pick up the egg with a paper towel and put it back in the nest if that is possible for you. Let's see what others have to say.

Thanks, mom was away from nest but now she is back. If she leaves again I will try to wear gloves and put the egg back in the nest.

Put it back in the nest as quickly as possible so that it doesn't get cold - even if you have to (gently) disturb the adult to do so.
