Hi,
I have a mourning dove with two babies nesting in a hanging basket on my porch. I’m having my house power washed and afraid for the birds. Can I move the nest temporally without disturbing the birds?

Hi Jeannie and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

Unfortunately any disturbance to the nest will almost certainly result in the adults deserting it.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Welcome to Birdforum! I am sure that you will find lots to interest you here and I hope you enjoy your visits.

I believe it is against Federal law to interfere with a nest which is being used.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you . (y)
We're glad you found us and please join in wherever you like .

You will need to let the Power Washer know that you have to put off the job until the birds leave the nest. If he is a professional he will be well aware of the law about interfering with nesting sights. Good luck Jeannie and thanks for checking on this ;)

Hi Jeannie, welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy the site.
