Mourning Doves (1 Viewer)

We have a pair of mourning doves that recently had 2 babies on the balcony of my office. We all watched daily to see them grow and finally leave the nest yesterday. Today it seems the adult pair are back at the nest and adding more twigs. Is it possible this is the same pair and they will have another brood?

The attached image is from July 9th nad July 11. These are the babies that have left the next

Thanks
Tammy

Hi again, doves are prolific breeders and often start a new brood as soon as the last one fledges.

Hello!
We have a two baby doves that hatched 11 days ago. One is developing normally, while the other is a quarter of the size and looks like a newborn (off balance and blind). The bigger baby is getting fed well by both parents… and the little fighter is still getting some milk as he tries to secure a latch. Both parents are still giving him some food… but I don’t think he will make it as he has no strength. What will the parents do? The bigger one will soon leave Nest. I’m heartbroken

Oh my how sad for the smaller bird.

He’s such a fighter! He fell out the other day on the same ledge nest is on and was able to wiggle back in. He fell during feeding time. He has the down feathers and only peaks out once in a great while. I’m praying 🙏🏻
