Movement activated camera? (1 Viewer)

Has anyone experimented with movement activated cameras for birds, specifically Kingfishers?
I have a local spot where there is an occasional kingfisher sighting of which I have seen him perch a while ago but not recently.
Would any one know if those relatively cheap wildlife movement cameras (around £50) could be used to monitor this perch?
The perch is approx 7m from the bank but will need to be hidden due to it being a public area.
The kingfisher has perched on several of the branches in the centre of the river. Would a camera like this work?
