My patch is an irrigated field with a drainage ditch just outside Dubai. It is about 3,000 m2 in total and has a list of just over 200. This year I saw 129 species there.

Wow what a great local patch. Mine's 40,000 m2 but I haven't seen nearly as many birds. Dubai sounds amazing!!!!
 
3000m2???? That is a very very tiny space, are u sure it is not 3000km2 instead?? even my football field in front of my house is larger than 3000m2, my local patch is roughly 2.92km2 and is now having 70++ species and the list growing fast. Rarely surveyed and inspected lately since im studying at another place, but everytime i went home, there are likely 1 to a few new species recorded in the list, once i get about 5 species in a week, the new founds are mostly coming from a small secondary growth area that is newly found last May. The area is rewarding as it has forest edge birds that is not found elsewhere in my patch, but since my place is inland, so not as rich in avifauna as ur nice patch over there, waterbirds are found but not abundant, most of them are inland waterbirds.
